camping
I like camping. It was quite fun. I spent two full days doing absolutely nothing important. Well, I read a bunch of Fast Food Nation...but I liked that too, so it doesn't count either. (Wow, that was horrible logic. I enjoyed it so it can't be important?) We went to the lake/beachy type place and hung out for hours. The boys had been fishing for a while when Steve handed me a fishing pole and told me how to use it. I haven't fished in a long while. I had been at it for about 10 minutes when I accidentally got my line all tangled up. I was making a mess of things, trying to fix the line, when suddenly I realize that I have somehow managed to catch something! So I reel it in. A catfish. The boys all got irritated at how fast I caught it, really since they hadn't caught anything yet, and they took my pole, determined to beat me. Matt caught two little fishies. We brought them back and the guys cleaned them. It was quite a gross thing to watch. They like to squeeze things and disect things and poke things and throw fish guts around.
The first night I slept in a hammock. Underneath Michael's. But first we watched Borat on his ipod. We both squeezed into my tiny little hammock for an hour and 20 minutes. We couldn't move or else it would flip over. I didn't have any socks and it was freezing. I didn't get much sleep. But I made up for it during the day when I slept through the guys paintballing and general stupid-doing. The second day was much colder than the first. I traded in my bermuda shorts for some jeans. But there was a brief warm period. I lay on the beach for a bit, until Donna and Steve had pestered me enough about skin cancer.
The second night I piled into a tent with Michael, Kemp, Matthew, Grayson, & Randall. They were quite entergetic. It was still cold. Not so bad though. I survived.
I got back home in the morning, took a shower, and went on my way. A day full of pizza, Jacob, Joey, Brittany, the mall, flashlight tag, church....I think I hit all the main points...and now I am quite tired. Since I will undoubtably be up by 10 tomorrow, I think that it is about time that I head to bed. Fairwell.
